Congress wins Himachal Pradesh from BJP
Congress managed to win Himachal despite rising prices, corruption and scam. Himachal has always seen alternating Govts between BJP and Congress and this year was no different either.

Himachal Pradesh was carved after Independence by joining the 30 erstwhile princely states. The state has seen alternate Govt's between BJP and Congress in the past decade or so. Congress rode to power under Virbhadra Singh in 2003 but in 2007 BJP's Prem Kumar Dhumal brought a landslide victory for the party winning 41 seats out of 68. 2012 elections are expected to be a close fight between BJP and Congress again. But Congress is in a dilemma of who to project as the next CM candidate, four time CM Virbhadra Singh or his arch rival Anand Sharma. Congress knows that if Anand Sharma is projected as CM, Mr Singh will harm the party's chances in HP. Besides, BSP is already set to cut on Congress vote from the minorities.
