Parliamentary Election Results for Gujarat

Gujarat is a state in western India and has 26 election constituencies for 2009 parliamentary elections. Some constituencies in Gujarat have been newly added while some others in the list below have been removed because of the new delimitation rules that came in to effect with the India 2009 elections. In 2009 results, BJP's vote share went down by 0.9% from 2004 to 46.5% and Congress lost 0.5% to 43.4%.

While Gujarat saw the complete dominanace of Congress in the earlier years of elections in India, it has moved towards being a stronghold for BJP. Year 2004 did saw the Congress wrest some initiative back, but the Narendra Modi factor might just see BJP winning again in Gujarat 2009 elections.
