Parliamentary Constituencies of India for Election 2009
There are a total of 543 India Parliamentary Constituencies, which will go through the voting in 5 different phases from April 16th to May 16th. of these 543 constituencies, 499 are going to have new map boundaries because of the recently implemented delimitation rules. The Scheduled Caste seats will go up to 84 from 79 and Scheduled Tribe will now have 47 instead of previous 41. 522 Lok Sabha constituencies will see the use of photo electoral rolls. The election commission of India is responsible for the overall management and rule-making of India elections. It is said to be above the jurisdiction of the central or state Govt and the entire election process is followed according to the rules set by the election commission. The election commission is aptly helped by Govt officials who are given special election duties in their respective constituencies.
