Train service started between Mangalore – Bangalore

There has been a long standing demand for a train route between Mangalore and Bangalore. Finally, the demands have now been fulfilled with the inauguration of the train service between Mangalore and Bangalore. This would be a tri-weekly Mangalore-Yeshwantpur day-train route for the next six months.

Work on laying four more tracks will be done as well so that the train route can be converted to a daily one. The deadline set for the new tracks is til March 2010. The route was inaugurated on Saturday 28th Sep by union minister of state for Railways, Mr. K H Muniyappa at Central Railway Station, Bengalore.
