It was being said after the Lok Sabha Elections that the Narendra Modi magic is weaning in Gujarat, but Modi and BJP bounced back to prove their opponents wrong. In the recently concluded by-poll elections in 7 assembly seats of Gujarat, Bhartiya Janata Party won an impressive 5. The Congress won the other two seats.
What adds to the charisma of Narendra Modi is the fact that all five Assembly seats belonged to the Congress. This also gives enough firing ammunition, as in recent months BJP has been bogged down because of factional in-fighting and General Elections poll debacle.
The Assembly by-polls were also held in Uttarakhand where the BJP won the only Assembly by-poll. BJP now has a slender slender majority of 36 in a House of 70.
In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP and Congress bagged one seat each in the two Assembly bypolls while in Andhra Pradesh, the Congress retained the single Assembly seat.
