Northeast India especially, Assam and West Bengal, were hit by an earthquake of magnitude around 6.4 a few moments back. The epicenter of the quake was in Bhutan, were at least 1 person has said to have died.
The quake tremors were also felt in Katihar district of Bihar as well as Haridwar in Uttarakhand. However, in Uttarakhand, the magnitude on Richter Scale was much less at 4.3. No loss of life has been reported yet from India although a lot of buildings have been said to have developed cracks in them.
