Arunachal Pradesh will go to its State Assembly Polls on 13th Oct for its 60 seats. A total of 7.25 lakh registered voters will have the choice to decide the fates of 157 candidates.
The Assembly Elections of Arunachal Pradesh will see Congress contesting on all 60 seats. Arunachal’s current Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu and a Congress candidate has been elected unopposed from the district of Tawang.
NCP has put up 36 candidates while Trinamool Congress will fight on 26 seats. Incidentally, 10 of Trinamool’s candidates are existing Congress legislators who did not get a Congress ticket this time around.
Although Bhartiya Janata Party fought on 39 seats in last State Elections of Arunachal Pradesh, this year it has put up its candidates on juts 18 seats.
The 2009 Assembly Polls will see voting in Maharashtra and Haryana on 13th Oct. The poll campaign ended yesterday in Maharashtra and Haryana and all eyes are now on 23rd, when the results will be declared. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Govt has declared a public holiday on 13th oct so that more and more voters will have the time to come out and vote.
