Jharkhand Final Phase of Assembly polls sees 58% voting

The five phase Assembly Polls in Jharkhand ended on Friday with the fifth phase of voting in the state. 58% overall voting was recorded in the final phase.

In separate incidents, the fifth phase polls saw the killing of two security personnel in landmine blasts in the Hussainabad and Jagannathpur constituencies. Jagannathpur is the constitunecy from which tainted politician Madhu Koda’s wife is contesting from. Madhu Koda, an earlier Chief Minister of Jharkhand, has been recently found to be involved in over Rs. 6000 crore scams and is currently under interrogation.

All eyes are now on the Jharkhand Assembly Election Results 2009, which will be declared on Dec 23rd.
