Commonwealth Games Federation shows distorted India Map

Commonwealth Games Federation was left red faced when errors were pointed out in the map of India showcased in its website.

The Chief Executive Officer of CGF, Mike Hooper, accepted the mistake and has apologized for showing an incorrect map of India.

The distorted map showed northern areas of Jammu and kashmir, such as Chilas, Gilgit and Skardu, to be a part of Pakistan. these actually follow in the disputed territory between India and Pakistan. Even regions of western Kutch in Gujarat were shown as belonging to Pakistan.

Considering the fact that Commonwealth Games 2010 are just round the corner and are to be staged in New Delhi, the incorrect map just goes on to show how unprepared even the CGF is for the Games.
