Dense Fog leads to train collission near Tundla

Three persons died while 14 others were injured when dense fog lead to the collision of two trains near Tundla Junction in Uttar Pradesh.

The collision took place early morning at 8.15 a.m. when Bhiwani-Kanpur Central Kalindi Express hit the stationary Kanpur-bound Shram Shakti Express from rear. Two boggies of Shram Shakti Express were damaged. This led to the death of 3 people and injured 14 others.

Several trains have been diverted as this is one of the busiest train routes. Restoration process is underway to get the track operation again. Dense fog and cold weather conditions in UP was also witness to trains colliding a few days back.

Railways has announced compensation for those who died or got injured in today’s accident. The next of kin to the dead people will be given Rs. 5 lakh, while severely injured will get Rs. 1 Lakh each. People who minor injuries will be given Rs. 10000.
