India celebrated the 113th Birth anniversary of the famous freedom fighter, Subhash Chandra Bose, on Saturday. Some states celebrated the day as the Patriotism Day.

Subhash Chandra Bose was born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa. He was known for his ready to die attitude to help India attain freedom at the earliest. Almost opposite to Congress and Mahatma Gandhi’s view of attaining freedom with time, Netaji, as he was more famously known, wanted to attain Independence as soon as possible, even if that required blood. he mysteriously disappeared from scene in 1945 and reasons behind his death or disappearance are still unknown.
It’s quite amazing that the Birth anniversary for a big patriot such as Netaji goes unnoticed year after year. the Center as such has no programs lined up for it, the media just passes over it as it doesn’t really give them coverage material and Political parties, if any, just show a little concern by speaking a few words for him. Compare this to the Anniversary celebrations lined up for the Nehrus and the Gandhis, and you will wonder what wrong did Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose did to deserve this treatment.
