Jammu-Srinagar highway has now remained closed for 5 days after heavy snowfall in Kashmir region. Heavy rain, landslides and snowfall has cut-off the Kashmir valley from rest of the country.
Not just the highway, but even the district roads have been closed to prevent any untoward incidents from happening because of the landslides. Kishtwar, Poonch and Rajouri district are still reporting heavy snowfalls.
The closing of highway has seen a pile-up of over 1900 vehicles, who are left stranded. The movement can only be possible once the snow is cleared, which can take another few days.
