Swine Flu related deaths cross 1300-mark, flu still a threat

On Sunday, Swine Flu related deaths crossed 1300-mark in India. 3 deaths were reported in Maharashtra on Sunday, while 10 news cases were reported from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

Maharashtra now alone accounts for 343 deaths, while 268 lives have been lost in Gujarat, 186 in Rajasthan, 141 in Karnataka, 95 in Delhi, 52 in Andhra Pradesh, 39 in Punjab, 37 each in Kerala and Haryana, 24 in Madhya Pradesh, 18 in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Uttarakhand, 8 each in Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh, 7 each in Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh, 6 in Puducherry, 5 in Goa, 4 in Jammu & Kashmir, 3 in Orissa, 2 in Assam and 1 each in Mizoram and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

In US, Swine flu is being said to have hit over 57 million people, leading to death of almost 17,000.
