Small blast creates panic at Bangalore’s Chinnaswamy stadium

Chinnaswamy stadium was waiting to see an explosion from Bangalore and Mumbai Indians batsmen and bowlers. Instead, it got explosions coming from a small bomb hidden outside the stadium.

Initial reports suggested that the explosion came because of an overheated generator. The generator was kept outside the Chinnaswamy stadium. A second explosion was also heard and now, it’s being speculated if the explosion was because of a small bomb. The bomb is being said to have been hidden behind a plastic board and was placed just near the entrance to the Chinnaswamy stadium.

4 police men have been injured and 1 security personnel has been seriously injured. The explosion obviously created panic among the spectators inside the stadium. The police has now cordoned off the entire area and is sanitizing the area, searching for any other low intensity explosives.

The IPL cricket match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challenge Bangalore has now been delayed by an hr. Tendulkar did come out on the ground with the commentators for the toss, but RCB officials were busy discussing the situation, so the toss has been delayed as well. Chances are that the match can be canceled as well.
