Maoists keep disrupting the day-to-day lives of common man, and Govt continues to look away. Starting today, Maoists have again declared a two day ban across five states.
The two day bandh has been called in the states of Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal. Any bandh by the Maoists disrupts the lives of daily-wage earners as the only way they can earn is by going out. But the power yielded by Maoists in these states really scares people to remain back at home.
Even the transport services get affected badly and the main highways across these states bear a deserted look. Almost twice every month the Maoists are calling for these two day bandhs and the Congress led Central Govt is not even caring to assure people to come out and oppose the bandh. The loss of revenue, both for public and the Govt, is immense, but no one seems to care about it.
Trains will be badly affected for these two days. Already several trains have been cancelled and 8 diverted. Ranchi-Delhi Swarna Jayanti Express and the Ranchi-Varanasi inter-city are those which have been diverted. Besides, the trains, including Rajdhani Expresses, passing through the Maoists areas at night will run at an average speed of 60-65 Km. This will in turn lead to huge delays on arrivals.
Early Wednesday morning, Maoists killed 26 CRPF men in an ambush. A local Congress leader in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district has also been killed on Wednesday.
