Devotees hoping to go for the Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage this year can start registering from June 5th onwards.
The 2010 Amarnath Yatra will start from Baltal and Pahalgam on 1st July and end on 24th Aug. The Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has announced registrations will begin from 5th of June. Devotees can register themselves at 121 designated branches of J&K Bank located all over India. The registration counters will remain open from 3 to 6 PM on weekdays and between 1 to 4 PM on Saturdays.
Last dates for registration is 22nd August for the Pahalgam route and 23rd August for the Baltal route.
Devotees will need to carry a valid Yatra Permit for their specified dates and route. Without the permit no devotee will be allowed to go ahead on the Amarnath yatra pilgrimage. As a special security measure this year, even the labourers, pony and pithuwallahs will be issued photo identity cards. Yatris interested in availing the Helicopter services for Amarnath Yatra to travel from Baltal / Pahalgam to Panjtarni and back can book their seats as well.
