North India burns under a severe heat wave

Entire North India has been going through a severe heat wave. Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi are witnessing temperatures in the range of 45 C. There is no cloud cover, no wind and even the humidity level is quite high. Life has become hell for people who normally work outside.

Met Dept says the condition is because of a temporary weakening of the monsoon surrent. what’s worse is that no relief is expected till next week as the southwest monsoon is not expected to move ahead.

Temperature in Delhi is expected to reach 46 C in the next few days. Sunday was 5 degrees warmer than usual at 44.8 C. This could be one of the worst summers for Delhi in the recent years as temperatures have not crossed even 44 C in the last two years for the month of June.
