57th National Film Awards announced

57th national Film Awards were declared on Wednesday and Bollywood showed strong presence in results. Amitabh Bachchan was given the best actor award for his role in “Paa” while “3 Idiots” won the most popular film award.

This is the fourth time Amitabh bachchan has won a National Award for his performance. He earlier got the best debut award for his role in Saath Hindustani, followed by his exceptional performances in Agnipath, Black and now Paa.

Although Aamir Khan missed out on the best actor award for his hugely popular 3 idiots, it was still a joyous occasion for everyone related to the movie. 3 Idiots won the most popular film award. The director-producer combination of Raj Kumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra have now won a National award for all three movies they have made together, the earlier two being the Munnabhai movies. They’d be hoping that there next movie, Munnabhai Chale Amerika, also gets them the award.

15. Best Lyrics: Swanana Kirkere (Behti hawa Sa Tha Woh: 3 Idiots)
16. Best Direction: Rituparno Ghosh (Abohoman)
17. Best Supporting Actor: Farooque Sheikh (Abohoman)
18. Best Bengali Film: Abohoman
19. Best Male Playback Singer: Rupam Islam (Song Kolakata; Bengali Film : Mahanagar)
20. Best Audiography: Resool Pookutty (Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja); Subash Sahoo (Kaminey) and Anup Dev (3 Idiots)
