Formula 1 announced in 2011 calendar on 8th Sep and it has included India for holding the F1 race in Oct 2011.
Formula 1 has been rapidly gaining in popularity across India and as we earlier informed way back in Oct 2008, Formula One India is finally happening in 2011. Vijay Mallaya bought a Formula One team, which is now known as Force India, and ever since Indians have been dreaming of seeing the cars racing in their own country.
The F1 2011 calendar shows a whopping 20 races. This is the longest in Formula One history, surpassing 19 races record of 2010. The races will start from March 13th at The Bahrain Grand Prix and end in Brazil on Nov 27th. India will get its inaugural race on 30th October, which will happen to be the 18th race of the season.
The only minor glitch in India holding the even is the final approval from the International Automobile Federation. If after inspections, the IAF clears India, there’s no stopping the races from coming here in Oct 2011.
