Every fact coming out of Commonwealth Scam news points to a heap of ministers belonging to Congress. From Delhi Cheif Minister Shiela Dikshit to senior Congress leader Suresh Kalmadi. But, when Central Govt agencies start the raids to uncover the truth, quite interestingly, the first raids take place at a BJP leader’s place.
Several investigating agencies including ED and CBI conducted Income tax raids on 30 targets across Delhi-NCR. Most locations were of firms which provided accessories on hire for the Commonwealth Games. The temporary fixtures cost us over Rs. 700 Crore. The main aim of the raids is to look into the contracts, scan the tax papers and study foreign remittances and bank transfers. Of the 30 premises raided today, one belonged to BJP’s Sudhanshu Mittal.
What’s strange is that none of the so-called big-fishes have been touched yet by the Congress led Govt. From Suresh Kalmadi to Shiela Dikshit to Jaipal Reddy, none of them have been asked for any sort of questioning. They may be questioned at some point of time, but will the evidence still remain there? Definitely not. Already a week has passed and one wonders how much more time will the real culprits get to destroy evidence.
Meanwhile, efforts are already underway to show that CWG did not involve funds to the tune of 70,000 crore but was worth only 27,000 crore. What the actual figure was no one will ever know, but reducing 70K to 27K will help Govt save a lot of red faces.
