Goodbye Delhi Commonwealth Games 2010

So after all the controversies surrounding the Organizing Committee and the Sports related bodies in India and after all the excitement and emotional moments brought to us by the Indian athletes, the 19th Commonwealth Games draws to a close today in New Delhi.

The closing ceremony for Delhi Commonwealth Games will a be a 2 hr 15 min show and will feature over 7000 performers from across India.

The Games closing ceremony will be divided into five segments.

First segment: Agni: showcasing the martial arts that originated in India
Second segment: Military Martial Music: involves military music
Third segment: Tribute to Motherland: A composition by A R Rahman, with a special version of Vande Mataram.
Fourth segment: Glasgow Handover: A Welcome message from the Scots welcoming the next Games to Glasgow in 2014.
Fifth segment: Music of Universal Love: Will feature some of the lead singers from Bollywood like Usha Uthup, Shankar mahadevan, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kailash Kher, Shubha Mudgal and Ila Arun.

The show will also feature a laser display by Viraf Sarkari. The entire show’s creative committee includes renowned film personalities like Shyam Benegal, Javed Akhtar and Prasoon Joshi.

So, get set for a riveting evening of non-stop excitement. Get ready to say Goodbye to 19th Commonwealth Games and to the thousands of athletes who came to India from World over.
