CPM kick-starts West Bengal Assembly Elections 2011 Campaign

CPM kick-started its West Bengal Elections 2011 campaign on Sunday at a massive rally organized in Kolkata.

For the first time in last three decades, CPM may be feeling the heat of voter resentment and a strong challenge given by TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee. Quite predictably, CPM’s rally on Sunday at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade grounds focused less on core development issues and more on attacking Mamata Banerje and her party’s alleged links with Maoists.

295 assembly constituency seats from 19 districts of West Bengal will go to polls this year. You may look at the past poll results from 1977 onwards here.
