Congress yet to finalize seat-sharing for Assembly Polls 2011

Congress is still in a dilemma over the number of seats to share with its allies in the upcoming Assembly elections 2011.

Election Commission of India has announced the poll dates and assembly elections in 4 states and 1 union territory will start on April 4th and end with the results being declared on May 13th.

Congress is still undecided on the number of seats to give to its ally parties in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. While Mamata Banerjee is positive of a win, she also is demanding majority of the seats for her party as TMC believes that Congress candidates will just waste the seats. In tamil Nadu, after all the huge scams, DMK is feeling the ehat of public resentment. So it’d want to be very careful about giving out seats to Congress, knowing for a fact that if Congress does better and DMK fails to reach majority, Congress will easily switch poll-aaliance to AIADMK and form a Govt with J Jayalalitha.
