DMDK chief Vijayakanth was seen bashing and assaulting his own party’s worker at an election rally in Tamil Nadu on Thursday.
The actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth enjoys a huge popularity in the state. His party is fighting the 2011 polls as a part of the Jayalalitha led AIADMK alliance. Asssembly election in Tamil Nadu is scheduled on 13th April, with 234 constituencies going to poll.
In an election rally on Thursday, DMDK chief Vijayakanth was seen assaulting his Dharmapuri candidate in full public view. The candidate was supposed to be the in-charge of the public address sysytem, but the microphone failed. This got Vijayakanth agitated and he apparently hit the Dharmapuri candidate in anger.
Vijayakanth, when later asked about the incident, said he has done nothing wrong and the guy he beat would beocme a maharaj one day! Meanwhile, the candidate in question has denied any such incident, though Tv recordings clearly show he is getting beaten.
