IIT-JEE 2011 exam results are out and Prudhvi Teja from Hyderabad has topped in the list of successful candidates this year.
IIT-JEE exams are held every year and are considered the most prestigious of all Engineering exams. A seat in IIT-JEE is considered to be a straight gateway to a fulfilling life as most IITians bag hefty pay salaries on completion of the course.
This year over 4.85 lakh students appeared for the exams. A total of 9,600 seats were up for grabs in 15 IITs, IT-BHU, Varanasi and ISM, Dhanbad. A list of 13,602 qualified candidates has been declared today by IIT Kanpur. Prudhi Teja from Hyderabad, who appeared from the IIT-Madras zone, has topped the list. Shubham Mehta from IIT-Bombay zone came second.
Bihar’s well known Super-30 team saw 24 of its 30 candidates qualify in this year’s IIT results. Super-30 was founded by Anand Kumar and it helps students from the economically backward families to compete the IIT-JEE. Last three years, all 30 students made to the IIT’s, but this year’s 24 is also not a bad number. So far, in 9 years, Super-30 has helped 236 candidates qualify.
