Howrah-Kalka Mail Express derails, 10 killed, 100 injured

In a tragic incident around 12:20 P.M., 13 coaches of Howrah-Kalka Mail Express derailed near Malwa station in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

The train was running a t a speed of 105 kmh when it got derailed. It was bound for Delhi from Kalka. The derailed coaches of Kalka mail include 3 AC coaches and 5 passenger coaches.

At least 100 people have been said to be injured in the accident and they have been rushed to Fatehpur district hospital, which is about 17 Kms from the accident site. 10 people have been said to be killed in the mishap. There are several passengers still trapped in the mangled remains of the train coaches. Two rescue trains have been rushed to the site of the accident. Army help has also been sought.

Several trains on the route are now bound to get delayed while some trains like Sangam Express has been cancelled for the day.
