Is Samsung Galaxy Note your perfect tablet-phone solution?

Samsung has enriched it’s Galaxy series of mobiles by launching Samsung Galaxy Note, which aims to create a new category of all-in-one tablet-mobiles.

Galaxy Note Tab Mobile from Samsung

Samsung first tried to make a market segment of tablet-mobiles with it’s 7 inch Galaxy Tab series. The Tab had phone calling features but it was just too big for people to actually use it as a mobile phone. So, Samsung went back to design boards and created the Samsung Mobile Note with 5.3 inch screen, which it feels is just right to be used as a mobile phone as well as replace the need for carrying an additional tab.

Apart from the cool 5.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive screen with 16M colours, Galaxy Note is capable of 800*1280 pixel display. The phone weighs just 178 g and has a 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. A dual-cre 1.4 Ghz ARM Cortex A9 processor runs this monster phone with 1 GB RAM. The phone will run on Android 2.3.5.

The phone may actually capture the imagination of a lot of people. Everyone is carrying around a tablet these days, but they also have to carry around a cellphone. The big display Samsung Galaxy Note may just give them a reason to leave the Tab behind and carry one single device.

However, we have all seen how Dell Streak 5 inch mobile failed badly. The main reason with Dell Streak failing was it’s weird pricing and it’s bad publicity. Let’s hope Galaxy Note does not go the same way.

Samsung Galaxy Note has been priced at Rs. 34,999 in India.
