60% voting recorded in Second phase of Uttar Pradesh Polls

60% voting has been recorded in Second phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2012.

Phase 2 of Uttar Pradesh elections were held today in 59 constituencies. 9 districts of UP went to polls today which included the districts of Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushi Nagar, Deoria, Aligarh, Mau, Ballia and Ghazipur.

This area of Uttar Pradesh was once considered a stronghold of BJP. Then BSP entered the scene and took away the seats. Last Assembly election was a fight between BSP and SP. Opinion Polls have suggested this year SP has its nose ahead in these regions. Third phase of Assembly elections are due on 15th Feb 2012.

2012 election results are going to be released on 6th March.
