Uttar Pradesh Sixth Phase sees 60 percent voting

Uttar Pradesh sixth phase sees 60 percent voting in 68 constituencies across 13 districts of Western Uttar Pradesh.

Sixth phase was the biggest poll phase in the 7 phases as it features 68 assembly constituencies. Highest turnout ws reported from Saharanpur where 65% voting was recorded and lowest turnout was seen from Gautam Budh Nagar, which stood at just 56%. RLD is a strong contender from this phase but BJP would be hoping to gain urban votes.

A total of 1,103 candidates were contesting in the 6th phase. 21,317 polling booths were available and some major cities that went to polls today included Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Muzzafarnagar, Aligarh, Mathura and Agra. Muslim voters also form a substantial chunk of voters in the 6th phase and their favours will decide the fate of political parties.

The final phase is to be held on 3rd March and UP election results are scheduled on 6th March, Tuesday.
