Train Accident in Andhra Pradesh kills 25, injures 40

Train Accident in Andhra Pradesh has killed 25 and injured 40 people earlier today when Hampi Express collided with a goods train.

Hampi Express was bound for Bengaluru Station when it collided with a stationary goods train at Penneconda station of Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district. After the collision, two coaches caught fire. Earlier reports suggested death of only 7 people, but as hrs pass more and more death reports are coming out. It is being said that an error on part for the driver led to the accident. Injured have been shifted to near by hospitals.

As usual, the Railway Minister Mukul Roy has announced Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased, 1 lakh to those in danger and 50,000 to people who suffered minor injuries. He has also offered railway jobs to the family members of the deceased. Meanwhile, Congress is busy celebrating completion of three years of UPA II today by organizing a grand dinner party.
