Kejriwal roars again, alleges Congress helped rich stash money in Swiss Accounts

India Against Corruption activist Arvind Kejriwal has once again brough the black money issue to the forefront by alleging that Congress ruled UPA has helped rich stash money in Swiss Accounts.

Kejriwal held another press conference today where he said that HSBC India has been helping the rich Indians stash money in save heavens like Swiss accounts via Hawala transactions. He particularly named Ambani brothers Mukesh and Anil, the Burmans, Naresh Goyal of Jet Airways, Yashowardhan Birla and Congress MP Annu Tandon as having accounts in Swiss banks which keeps Crores of un-accounted wealth.

The activist even mentioned that Indian Govt got the list of Black Money holders in 2011 July but it was the erstwhile Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee who covered the whole issue by making the concerned parties pay tax on the money without the whole issue coming to light.

Black money has been a poll-issue first raised by leaders from BJP like L K Advani. It was then taken up by Baba Ramdev in a big manner. But no one has ever taken direct names or cited confident sources. Arvind Kejriwal has for the first time named people ranging from Ambani’s to Birla. He has also alleged a Congress conspiracy in going after the smaller players while leaving out the big guns.

It’s a well-known fact that Kejriwal is doing a hit-and-run politics. He helds press conferences every few days, comes out with a startling revelation and then lets it fade away from public money before revealing another big news. It’d have been so good if all his revelations were pursued and taken to their logical consequences. He is somewhat right in saying that he can only bring out the truth but he can’t follow it up as he does not rule India. But as we all know, India people have short memory and during elections they often forget to penalize Congress for its follies. Petty politics, caste, religion and smart tactics by Congress always keeps it ahead in the race and one just hopes 2014 elections can prevent that from happening.
