Ramon Magsaysay award winner Anna Hazare was born on 15th July 1937. He was well known for turning his village Ralegan Siddhi into a model village and for his several hunger strikes demanding Govt tranparency and punishing the corrupt. But since 2011 Anna has become a National hero when he started the fight against corruption. His Jan Lokapl Bill and calls for bringing the black money back to India has caught nation's imagination and seen the public out on streets in his support across the country. His indefinite hunger strike in 2011 shook the Congress led Govt to the core. "I am Anna" is the slogan every common man in India agrees to.
