Tamenglong district is one of the nine districts of Manipur state in northeastern India. This district is bounded by Nagaland state on the north, by Senapati district on the north and east, by Churchandpur district on the south and by Imphal West district and Assam state on the west. Tamenglong is entirely composed of hills, ranges and narrow valleys. Oranges are grown in large scale in Tamenglong district. It's also famous for Exotic orchids, virgin forest, rare and endagered plants/animals g district. Tamenglong is often called as the Land of the Hornbill.

Tourist Spots to Visit in Tamenglong
River Barak: the river Barak has seven waterfalls in a series at close range and forms a major tourist attraction.
Tharon cave: The cave is located at about 27 kms from the district HQ. Excavation of the cave shows affinities with Hobinian culture of North Vietnam.
Zeilad Lake: Legendary Zeilad lake at Makoi is associated with a number of pythons, fishes and water birds. There are six other lakes nearby.
Buning Meadow: The Buning meadow is located on the western side of the picturesque Tamei town.
