Guntur is a city and a municipal corporation in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, located 40 miles (64 km) to the north of Bay of Bengal. * Seetanagaram: On the banks of river Krishna, this has been related to ancient history of Ramayana of last Treta Yuga.

* Ponnur: Famous for temples with huge monolithic statues of Lord Hanuma etc.

The city is the regional headquarters of the State Road Transport System. It is connected to all the major cities of the country through various national and state highways. The city is a part of the Golden Quadrilateral system, a major transportation project, under progress.
