Dhule district is in the northwestern tip of Maharashtra state of India. Dhule lies in the Khandesh region, which forms the northwest corner of southern India's Deccan Plateau, in the valley of the Tapi river. Dhule is mainly inhabited by the tribals who speak Ahirani (a dialect of Marathi) language. Dhule was earlier known as the west Khandesh whereas Jalgaon was known as the east Khandesh. Dhule city, on banks of Pnazara river, might not be heavy populated or financially important, but it's location grants it a very strategic importance. Major road networks of India criss-cross each other here. The national highway number 3, popularly known as Mumbai-Agra highway, virtually connects southern India with northern India. And the national highway number 6 on its part connects western India with eastern India.

The world's largest wind farm having an output of 10000 MW is being built very near to Dhule city. The Dhule district of Maharashtra comprises of 4 talukas. These talukas are Dhule, Sakri, Sindkheda and Shirpur. The district headquarters are located at the Dhule city and Sakri, Sindkheda and Shirpur act as the Taluka Headquarters.

Weather & Climate Conditions

The Climate of Dhule district is generally hot and dry. The Dhule District sees four distinct seasons; Summer, Monsoon/Rainy, Post Monsoon and the Winter season.

Summer is from March to May. Summers are usually hot and dry. During the month of May the summer is at its peak. Temperatures can be as high as 40° Celsius during the peak of Summer. The Monsoon sets in during the mid or end of June and stays till September, October and November make up the post-monsoon season and winter stays from December to February.eekvira Devi Temple

* Eekvira devi, one of the oldest templaes of this region, is a famous temple here.

* Akrani Tehsil is a hill station and attracts a lot of tourists.

* Toranmal is the second coolest hill station in Maharashtra state and is near Shahada (approx. 40 km). It has a natural lake called Yashwant Lake which is natural and full of flowering lotus. It is a good place for sight-seeing and picnic.

* Laling Fort

* Nature's magic can be seen at the Satpuda hills, Fort Of Akka Rani and beautiful waterfalls of Horaphali and Walheri.
